246 Island Transportation hereby adopts and strictly enforces this Zero-Tolerance Policy applicable to all drivers operating under the Company's Transportation for Hire Operating Authority. Drivers are prohibited from using, possessing, consuming, distributing, or being under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, marijuana, controlled substances, prescription medications, over the counter medications, or any other intoxicating substance that may impair the safe and lawful operation of a vehicle.

Drivers shall report for duty fit for service and capable of exercising sound judgment, unimpaired motor skills, and the degree of care required to protect passengers and the general public. Smoking, vaping, or the use of any tobacco, nicotine, or electronic smoking device within a transportation for hire vehicle while on duty is strictly prohibited. Drivers are further prohibited from using or handling handheld electronic devices while operating a vehicle, except as expressly permitted by applicable law through lawful hands-free technology.

The Company reserves the right to require reasonable suspicion, post-incident, and random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued eligibility to operate under its authority, to the extent permitted by applicable federal, state, and local laws. Refusal to submit to an authorized test shall be deemed a violation of this policy.
